Biography

Dave Carickhoff is a partner in the firm’s bankruptcy and restructuring group with over 25 years of experience representing all sides in distressed situations. The diversity of his prior engagements enables him to quickly identify the leverage points in cases to assist clients in achieving their goals. He also has diverse industry experience including chemical, energy, gaming, manufacturing, media, medical devices, mortgage, pharmaceutical, retail, technology, telecom, and video game.

Dave guides clients through complex legal and business issues in distressed situations to achieve value maximizing results. His most recent and current clients include chapter 11 debtors and chapter 7 trustees, for whom he develops case and business strategies. He recently led a chapter 11 debtor through a successful sale process, preserving the business and over 50 jobs. He also manages substantial litigation campaigns and claims on behalf of chapter 7 trustees, including breach of duty and fraudulent transfer claims.

In a recent matter, he achieved an $8 million recovery for a chapter 7 trustee, resolving claims against insiders. He has resolved more than 200 cases with and without mediation.
